This Manatee County breakfast restaurant is adding a new location

A locally-owned breakfast restaurant recently announced plans for a new Manatee County location.

The Breakfast Company is adding a restaurant in the Gateway Commons shopping plaza off Moccasin Wallow Road near Interstate 75 in Parrish.

The restaurant announced on social media that it will open in May 2026.

“Get ready for all your brunch favorites, cozy vibes and plenty of coffee refills in a brand new spot,” The Breakfast Company said in the post.

The Breakfast Company has Manatee County locations in the Braden River Twelve Oaks Plaza and The Shoppes at University Town Center. There are also restaurants in Sarasota County at the Landings plaza and in downtown Sarasota.

The Breakfast Company’s inspiration comes from the El Greco Cafe, which began in 1990 in Sarasota.

The Breakfast Company plans new restaurant

The downtown restaurant has since closed, but its founder, George Soublis, is the grandfather of Dimitri Syros, who opened The Breakfast Company in 2020 at the Braden River plaza with his mother Terri Syros-King.

Soublis’ mantra, ‘Welcome my friend,’ is part of The Breakfast Company’s ethos.

Like El Greco, the Breakfast Company serves original family recipes to diners that pay homage to their Greek roots, the Bradenton Herald previously reported.

Despite its name, The Breakfast Company’s menu also boasts lunch options in addition to breakfast.

Some breakfast items include omelettes, skillets, cast-iron griddle pancakes and French toast. The lunch menu includes sandwiches, paninis, pitas, wraps, scratch-made soups and salads.

There are Greek and mediterranean items for breakfast and lunch, and The Breakfast Company also has a bakery with giant cinnamon rolls and other assorted homemade pastries.
