Popular bagel and coffee chain plans first Manatee County location, records show

The Einstein Bros. Bagels company plans to open its first Manatee County location.

According to paperwork filed with the county’s development services, a 1,440-square-foot Einstein Bros. Bagels restaurant and cafe with a drive-thru is planned at 7625 State Road 64 E., Bradenton. The restaurant is slated to go at the corner of River Heritage Blvd. across from The Landing at Heritage Harbour plaza.

A timeline for the restaurant’s opening was not provided.

Einstein Bros. Bagels’ menu features classic, signature and gourmet bagels. The fast-casual chain also has various egg sandwiches on bagels, lunch sandwiches and beverages, including hot and iced coffee drinks.

According to company history, Einstein Bros. Bagels was founded in Lakewood, Colorado in 1995. Lakewood is a suburb of Denver. The chain is part of Panera Brands, along with Panera Bread and Caribou Coffee.

For now, the Einstein Bros. Bagels nearest to Manatee County is in Sarasota at 3800 S. Tamiami Trail. There are also two locations in St. Petersburg.
