Opa! Popular Tampa-based Greek restaurant coming to Manatee, development records say

A Tampa-area chain is bringing its Greek food to Parrish, according to Manatee County records.

The Hungry Greek is planned for 8980 U.S. 301 N. 118 inside the Creekside Commons plaza that is anchored by a Lowe’s home improvement store. The restaurant has 12 locations in the Tampa Bay area.

George Constantinou co-founded the restaurant with his father in West Tampa in the early 2000s. County records show the application is in review for an interior completion of a 1,594-square-foot building designated for a future Hungry Greek.

A completion and opening date has not been publicly announced.

Some of the Hungry Greek’s menu items include:

  • Greek salad
  • Tabouli salad
  • Avegolemono (Greek lemon chicken) soup
  • Gyro pita with tomato, onion and tzatziki sauce
  • Greek bowl
  • Chicken souvlaki meal
  • Falafel meal
  • Gyro meal
  • Side dishes such as rice pilaf, hummus, etc.

The Creekside Commons plaza in Parrish, which also houses HomeGoods, ALDI and other stores, is at the northeast corner or Erie Road and U.S. 301.
