A popular breakfast and lunch restaurant is returning north of the Manatee River.

Peach’s Restaurants announced a new restaurant will open in Palmetto’s Gateway Commons shopping plaza, 9564 Buffalo Road.

The shopping center is east of Interstate 75 off Buffalo Road and Moccasin Wallow Road.

A Publix grocery store anchors the shopping center, which includes Jet’s Pizza, Great Clips, The Blend Coffee & Cocktails, Great Clips and more.

Gateway Commons is next to Moccasin Wallow Golf Club, too.

“We will be part of the brand-new plaza that’s set to be completed by Winter 2025,” Peach’s said in a social media announcement. “Our team has been working tirelessly to bring Peach’s back to the Palmetto/Ellenton area. So, being part of this incredible new development is very exciting for all of us.”

Peach’s closed two locations in June, including one in Ellenton, after the leases for the buildings expired. The other closure was the restaurant in Holmes Beach.

The Ellenton location had been open since 2002.

Jennifer Hester, chief financial officer for Peach’s Restaurants, told the Bradenton Herald in May that the company was hoping to find a new location.

“We are really heartbroken,” Hester said at the time. “We hope the time before seeing your favorite server and having your favorite meal is short and we encourage our Holmes Beach and Ellenton guests to visit our other locations to see some familiar faces while meeting new ones. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our guests for their unwavering support over the years. We will keep you all informed of where we find our new home,” she said.

Peach’s Restaurants began in 1985 and has six locations between Manatee and Sarasota counties. According to their website, “Peach’s is the kind of place you want to linger in, long after the meal is done.”
