Restaurant News

Want to see all of the restaurant inspections in Bradenton and Sarasota? Here’s a map

Businesses that prepare and serve food to the public — including Bradenton and Sarasota restaurants, food trucks, food courts, hotels and country clubs — are routinely inspected by Florida’s Division of Hotels and Restaurants.

Inspectors make sure that food handlers are following procedures to keep food fresh, safe and free of contamination and that dining establishments are keeping up cleanliness standards.

Restaurants and businesses that have too many or specific high-priority violations may fail to meet inspection standards. When this happens, a follow-up inspection is required.

And in some cases, a restaurant is shut down if inspectors consider conditions inside an immediate threat to public health. Restaurants can also face potential fines for uncorrected violations.

Examples of high-priority violations include unsafe food temperatures, lack of employee hand-washing, raw meat that risks contaminating other food and live pests such as flies or roaches on site. Lack of employee food safety training, or lack of documentation, can also trigger a follow-up inspection.

So, which restaurants in the Bradenton area have recently failed to meet inspection standards? Check out the map below for a closer look.

The map displays the last 90 days of inspection data from the Division of Hotels and Restaurants.
