Blues and brunch event returns to Bradenton Riverwalk this weekend
Good food and good tunes are in store this weekend at Mattison’s Riverwalk Grille on the Bradenton Riverwalk.
The restaurant is bringing back its popular weekend brunch menu starting this Saturday, and, on Sunday, it will have a complement of live music.
The Bradenton Blues Brunch, a partnership between the restaurant, Realize Bradenton and the Bradenton Blues Fest, returns to Riverwalk on Sunday for the first time in months.
Local act Memphis Rub Band is slated to play. The band presents a fusion of blues, rock, R&B and funk delivered through a catalog of covers and crafty originals.
The group’s 2018 release, “Taste,” even included a timely tribute to the red tide outbreak that was impacting the Gulf Coast area that year, fittingly titled “Red Tide Blues.”
Memphis Rub Band is also a previous performer at the Bradenton Blues Festival. The festival happens each year in December and brings top international blues talent and thousands of blues fans to downtown Bradenton.
Until then, Mattison’s Blues Brunch is a great way for any blues fan to sample some local talent (and tasty eats).
The weekend brunch menu available at Sunday’s show includes steak and eggs, stuffed french toast, a breakfast sundae and other breakfast delights. For sipping, try a build-your-own bloody mary, mimosa with local orange juice or a Bellini with Georgia peach puree.
Mattison’s offers open-air, outdoor seating with socially-distanced tables, and restaurant staff are wearing masks and sanitizing after each guest in addition to other safety measures, according to management.
