Basic ‘Wiches brings a new option for breakfast and lunch to Bradenton Beach
Rhianna Walters made the move this week from food truck operation to brick-and-mortar deli with her newly opened Basic ‘Wiches.
The new deli is located in unit 130 on the first floor of 119 Bridge St., a two-story building hosting a variety of beach-related businesses.
Walters, 27, is a wife, mom, and 2009 Lakewood Ranch High School grad who — not surprisingly — got her first cooking lessons from her mom.
“I am constantly looking up new recipes and trying new things,” Walters said.
As the name of her business would indicate, Basic ‘Wiches keeps it simple and offers beach goers and others in the area a place to stop and buy a freshly prepared breakfast or lunch.
“I try to keep everything as basic as possible. Everything gets put into a to-go box,” she said.
Her breakfast menu includes “The Hotties,” such as The Bowl (shredded potatoes, scrambled egg, cheese and meat of choice for $7), a fried egg, cheese and meat of choice sandwich for $7, and more.
“The Cold Shoulder” breakfast menu includes avocado toast, chia oats, and yogurt.
The lunch menu offers a variety of sandwiches, flatbread pizzas, salads, subs, a la carte items, and beverages, including bottled water, Gatorade, sodas, coffee, and sweet tea from Bradenton’s own Southern Sweet Tea Company.
Among the sandwich offerings are club, BLT, grilled chicken breast, chicken salad and more. Flatbread pizzas offered include spinach and artichoke, barbecue chicken, and capretta (pesto, tomato, mozzarella with a balsamic drizzle).
“Everyone here has been very welcoming,” Walters said of neighboring businesses. “I am very happy to be here.”
Susan Chully of Beach Life AMI, a next-door retail shop offering women’s clothing, swimwear, home decor, jewelry, items and more, said she is delighted by the opening of Basic ‘Wiches.
“I hope she does sensationally. I will be there with bells on,” Chully said.
When Walters saw an advertisement for the deli space, she thought it would be a great place to take her business.
“It was wonderful,” she said.
Basic ‘Wiches is open 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. seven days a week.
