Duran Duran to play Tampa next year
TAMPA --They were one of the biggest and best-looking bands of the 1980s. And you get to seem them live again before almost anyone else.
Duran Duran has announced a 2016 concert tour, and one of the first stops is at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa. They'll be there April 4, on just the fourth date of the tour. Tickets go on sale Saturday.
The current Duran Duran lineup features four of the five founding members. Only guitarist Andy Taylor has left the fold.
The tour's called "Paper Gods,' after the bands latest album, which came out in September.
Joining Duran Duran on selected shows on the tour, including the Tampa concert, is the great disco-funk band Chic featuring Nile Rodgers.
Details: 7 p.m. April 2, MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, 4802 U.S. 301, Tampa. Tickets: $29.95-135.95 plus service charge. Information: 813-740-2446, livenation.com.
