Hip-hop extraordinaire Sir Mix-a-Lot is coming to Bradenton.
The rapper’s 1992 track celebrating tremendous tushes — “Baby Got Back” — spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and it’s been an American staple ever since.
Joyland Country Music Night Club will host the performer, (real name Anthony L. Ray) on April 3.
Sir Mix-a-Lot’s set will include “Baby Got Back” as well as hits “Testarossa” and “Ride,” according to Joyland’s website.
Details: 9:30 p.m. Friday, April 3. Joyland Country Music Night Club. $20 advance purchase; $25 day of show.

New at Joyland
Joyland is upping its entertainment game with a new concert series that is set to bring some big names to the Bradenton venue this year.
It includes another step outside of the country genre with alternative rockers Sister Hazel on Feb. 20.
Also coming to Joyland: rising 27-year-old country artist Travis Denning on March 20 and chart-topping Nashville recording artist (and Garth Brooks co-writer) Jerrod Niemann on March 28.
Joyland reopened under new ownership a year ago and offers live music and line dancing every weekend in its 15,000-square-foot dance hall; acts at the venue include local and regional talent as well as touring artists.
