Green and Growing Youth Field Day: Manatee County Agriculture and Extension Services, 1303 17th St. W., Palmetto

Get the scoop on Green and growing by attending a day-long field day 8 a.m.-5 p.m. April 8 and learn about horticulture production and research. The day starts and ends at the Manatee County Agriculture and Extension Services office but the majority of the day will be spent at University of Florida's Gulf Coast Research and Education Center in Balm, and a visit is planned for the Manatee County nursery and farm. Activities include a laboratory and greenhouse tour at GVREC, a tractor safety course, conversation with researchers, and hands-on activities. The event is open to youth ages 8-13. Annual Suncoast Boat Show: Marina Jack, 2 Marina Plaza, Sarasota

The 34th annual Suncoast Boat Show will be 10 a.m.-7 p.m. April 15-16 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. April 17 featuring hundreds of exhibitors and boat dealer showcasing their finest boats, ranging from fishing boats to cruisers, runabouts, motor yachts and more. Ghost Spirit and Orb Walks: Bunker Hill Vineyards and Winery, 8905 Bunker Hill Road, Duette

Bunker Hill Vineyard will host "Spirit and Orb Walks" 6:30 p.m. April 16. Guests must arrive by 6 p.m. for a 30-minute indoctrination and discussion of the night's walk and activities. Guests are asked to bring cameras with a night flash, EVP recorders, EMF recorders, digital temperature recorders, and extra batteries. The "Spirit & Orb Walks" will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. and will last until 8 p.m. Good, closed toes, walking shoes, long pants and a jacket are encouraged. Since these walks will take place at night on both level and non-level ground, participants should be in good physical shape. Cost: $10. Annual Sarasota Arts and Craft Festival: Five Points Park on Central Avenue and First Street, Sarasota

The 14th annual Sarasota Art and Craft festival will be 10 a.m.-5 p.m. April 16-17 featuring an eclectic mix of local, regional and national artists showcasing quality original artwork and crafts of various artistic media, including paintings, sculptures, photography, ceramics, glass, wood, handmade jewelry, collage, and mixed media in addition to a full spectrum of craft media. Ringling by the Bay: 5401 Bay Shore Road, Sarasota

Enjoy live music and dancing at sunset on the Bolger Campiello at "Ringling by the Bay," 5-8 p.m. April 18 featuring live music by Paisley Craze. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
