The local group of Deep Sky Observers, a Manatee/Sarasota group of astronomy enthusiasts, will offer the public a chance to view spectacular celestial sights through their high-powered telescopes sunset-10 p.m. March 12, weather permitting. "Eggstravaganza": Bring your baskets and children to the Lakewood Ranch Community Activities Club's "Eggstravaganza" 9:30-11:30 a.m. March 26 at Adventure Park on Adventure Place at SR 70 East, Lakewood Ranch. The event will feature an Easter egg hunt with over 12,000 eggs, prize drawings, a live petting zoo, the Easter Bunny, face painting, balloon art, music, pony rides and much more. The egg hunt will be divided in age groups of 2 to 13 year olds and will begin promptly at 10:15 a.m. The Manatee Fire and Rescue team will be present with their red fire truck.
