The Budweiser Clydesdales will make an appearance 6-8 p.m. Sept. 21 in downtown Bradenton.

Talk Like a Pirate Day

Anna Maria Island Privateers will host the first Talk Like a Pirate Day event 1-7 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Drift Inn, 120 Bridge St., Bradenton Beach, featuring a “Grog Off” competition, a childrens’ activities tent and a Privateer’s gally with pirate-themed food. Second annual Art, Rhymes & Beer

The second annual Art, Rhymes & Beer is 4-10 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Sahib Shriner Auditorium, 600 N. Beneva Road, Sarasota. The event, which benefits the Shriners Hospital for Children, features local artists, musicians and local businesses coming together through a live silent art auction, raffle and fashion expo. Family Farm Tour

Join the Manatee County Extension Service in celebrating the heritage and environmental stewardship of agriculture in Manatee County by visiting a few of our finest agricultural operations 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 23. This is a fun-filled, daylong bus tour. Tours this year include, but not necessarily in this order: SMR Farms, Longino Ranch, Blackbeard’s Ranch and Florida Suncoast Orchids. The registration fee ($25 adults, $10 ages 5-17) includes tour bus transportation, snacks, lunch, gratuity, and entry into all hosting sites, some which are not typically open to the public. Sidewalk Astronomy

The local group of Deep Sky Observers, a Manatee/Sarasota group of astronomy enthusiasts, will offer the public a chance to view spectacular celestial sights through their high-powered telescopes at sunset, around sunset through 10 p.m. Sept. 23, weather permitting, at G.T. Bray Park, 5502 33rd Ave. Dr. W., Bradenton. Participants will be treated to up close views of the moon and other celestial objects as they become visible throughout the evening.
