The weather has started to cool down a bit, which means it's getting that time of year when we can stop avoiding the midday sun.

One great way to celebrate the season is with Bradenton's Courthouse Concert series, which offers live music at Manatee County Courthouse Square. Local musicians perform from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., and you can grab some lunch from the food trucks that will be on hand.

The series cranks up for 2015 on Monday. There's a concert every Monday through October. Each week brings a different performer or band. The music ranges from bagppipe music to R&B.

The music's free, but of course you'll have to pay for your food.

Here's the lineup:

Oct. 5: Jen & Ray: Acoustic blues/folk. A lunch menu, coffee and gelato from DaVinci's Coffee & Gelato.

Oct. 12: John Rinell: The sounds of Frank Sinatra and other Rat Pack greats. The Traveling Kitchen offers Latin flavors with an American twist.

Oct. 19: Jacobites: A bagpipe band that plays everything from traditional bagpipe music to rock. Food from DaVinci's.

Oct. 26: Koko & Karma Dou: An R&B-based rock and roll band. Food from DaVinci's.

Details: 11:30-1:30 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 5-26, 1115 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. Admission: Free. Information: 941-621-6471, realizebradenton.com/events.
