Sam Woolf headlines Taste of Manatee

He moved to Nashville, and now he lives in Boston, but he's still Bradenton's Sam Woolf. And in a few weeks he'll be back in town.

Or nearby, anyway. He'll be the headliner at this year's Taste of Manatee, Oct. 3-4 in Palmetto.

Woolf, of course, grew up in Bradenton and became a national heartthrob and a local hero during his run on "American Idol" in 2013-14. He finished fifth, and late last year he released his first album, "Pretend." He recently started studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston.

This year will be the 29th for Taste of Manatee, and there are some changes. It's a month earlier than usual, and car shows have been added to the schedule for both days.

The weekend will also feature continuous live music and food from about 20 area restaurants.

Woolf's performance is scheduled for Oct.3.

Details: Oct. 3-4, Sutton Park, Sixth Street West at 10th Avenue West, Palmetto. Hours: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, Noon-6 p.m. Sunday. Tickets: Free. Information: tasteofmanatee.com
