Leachman cancels Sarasota appearance
There's been a disappointing announcement from the Sarasota Film Festival, especially if you're a fan of "The Last Picture Show," "Mary Tyler Moore," "Young Frankenstein" or "Malcolm in the Middle."
Cloris Leachman, perhaps the biggest star slated to appear at this year's festival, has canceled. The announcement appeared on the festival's blog on Wednesday:
"Due to unforeseen circumstances, Cloris Leachman is very disappointed not to be able to attend this year's festival. She sends her deepest regrets, and we hope to bring her to Sarasota soon."
She was supposed be in town Friday for "A Conversation With Cloris Leachman" at Florida Studio Theatre.
If you have a ticket, you'll get a refund. Call 941-366-6200.
Leachman's new film "This Is Happening" is still slated for a screening at 8:45 Friday evening, and at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, April 19. Go to sarasotafilmfestival.com for more information.
