DeSoto Musical & Fashion show moves to Palmetto
The DeSoto Heritage Festival keeps going this weekend with the Musical & Fashion Show.
The popular event, which has moved this year to the Bradenton Area Convention Center in Palmetto, features the members of the 2015 Queens Court, a scholarship program that the Hernando de Soto Heritage Foundation has sponsored for more than 70 years. The Queens Court members will model new casual fashions provided by Shoppe on the River at Manatee Memorial Hospital and "after 5" fashions by Something Blue Bridal Boutique.
That's the "fashion" part of the show. The "musical" part comes from popular local entertainers Brooke Bonderer, Gabriel "The Storm" Jarrett, Jercoiya Waiters, Haviland Kebler, Andy Parcell and Diane Bradley. Waters is the 2015 Miss DeSoto Heritage Festival. Kebler is this year's Miss Manatee County.
Jarrett is called "Little Elvis," and he's known as the world's littlest Elvis Presley impersonator. The 10-year-old from Sarasota has been featured on national television shows, including "The Wendy Williams Show."
Details: April 21, Bradenton Area Convention Center, 1 Haben Blvd., Palmetto. Show times: 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets: Afternoon show free; evenings show $8 general, $20 reserved. Information: 941-747-1998, desotohq.com.
