"Florida Showcase shorts program." A showcase of Florida shorts including "Apalachicola," "Freeform," "Moods of Miakka," "My Girl Rose" and more. 12:30 p.m. April 13.

"Wildlike." A beautiful trek into the stunning Alaskan wilderness, "Wildlike" follows troubled 15-year-old Mackenzie on her first visit to the last frontier. When her stay there with her uncle takes a traumatic turn, Mackenzie begins a hapless journey through the Alaskan wilds alone. 3 p.m. April 13.

"From this Day Forward." When director Sharon Shattuck's father came out as transgender, Sharon was in the awkward throes of middle school. Her father's transition to female was difficult for her straight-identified mother to accept, but her parents remained married. As Sharon approaches her own wedding day, she returns home to Michigan to ask her parents how their love survived against all odds. 9 p.m. April 13, 3 p.m. April 14.

The festival's box office is open 10 a.m.-10 p.m. April 11-19 at Regal Hollywood 20, 1993 Main St., Sarasota. Single film tickets are $14 general admission, $10 students with ID.
