Opening Night Film

The Sarasota Film Festival opens with "Time Out of Mind." Oren Moverman will appear at the screening along with star Ben Vereen. 5:30 p.m. red carpet, 6:30 p.m. screening April 10, Sarasota Opera House, 61 N. Pineapple Ave., Sarasota. Tickets: VIP $60/$48 member, Gold $40/$32 member, Silver $30/$24 member. The event is followed by the Opening Night Party at 9 p.m. at the opera house featuring music by Florida band the Hip Nauticals and DJ Imminent. Ticket includes complimentary hors d'oeuvres and festival-themed cocktails. Cash bar. Tickets: VIP $150/$120 member, General $100/$80 member

Box office

The festival's box office is open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. April 6-10 and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. April 11-19 at Regal Hollywood 20, 1993 Main St., Sarasota. Single film tickets are $14 general admission, $10 students with ID. Spotlight or Centerpiece film tickets are $20. Matinee tickets: $10. Packages are available.
