Storm Large had a club following in San Francisco and Portland before she hit the national spotlight in 2006 as a finalist on the CBS show "Rock Star: Supernova." She started performing as a guest vocalist with Pink Martini five years later, and then became a full-fledged member of the band

She's still working with Pink Martini, but over the years she's also worked with country star k.d. lang, classical pianist Kirill Gerstein, alt-rocker Dave Navarro of Jane's Addiction, punk rocker John Doe, singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright, and funkmeister George Clinton.

Large can do it all, from rock to classical to country and funk. Her latest album, "Le Bonheur," includes songs by Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hart and Black Sabbath.

She also does theater -- she's appeared as Sally Bowles in "Cabaret" and she's performed her own autobiographical one-woman piece. So besides being one of the most respected vocalists on the scene, Large knows how to put on a show.

She'll be in Tampa on Friday for a concert at the Tampa Theatre, in the heart of downtown Tampa. That rich atmosphere of the historic theater should be a perfect complement for Storm's music.

Details: 8 p.m. Feb. 12, Tampa Theatre, 711 N Franklin St., Tampa. Tickets: $48.50 plus service charge. Information: 813-274-8981, tampatheatre.org.
