Sarasota Film Festival unveils 2016 poster

The poster features drawing of a woman's face and the words "Find Yourself in Film," along with the festival's logo and an abstract circular design, on a white background. It was designed by Gisselle Tirse and Nikelle Mackey, students at the Ringling College of Arts and Design.

The design was chosen after four-month process that started with the festival sponsoring two weekend-long brainstorming events for Ringling students to create several poster options for the festival to choose from. The design by Tirse and Mackey will appear on banners on Sarasota's Main Street in Sarasota starting Feb. 20. It will also be on all such festival materials as mailings, playbills and ads.

The 18th annual festival is scheduled to run April 1-10, with film screenings in locations around Sarasota.
