Dave Mason is probably most widely known for his solo hit "We Just Disagree," but his career as an important and influential figure in pop and rock music goes back to the 1960s. He was a member of the great British band Traffic with Steve Winwood, and wrote such hits as "Feelin' Alright," "Shouldn't Have Took More Than You Gave" and "You Can All Join In" for that band. Everyone from Joe Cocker to Grand Funk Railroad has covered his songs. He recorded a duet with Michael Jackson, was briefly a member of Fleetwood Mac and played the distinctive acoustic guitar part on the Jimi Hendrix version of "All Along the Watchtower."

He'll talk about all that and more when he comes to Bradenton Wednesday for a show at the Neel Performing Arts Center at State College of Florida.

Mason's touring with a show called "Traffic Jam" that features stories and performances of his most popular songs, along with a visual display that will include rare and vintage photos. Mason had to cancel several shows in recent weeks on this tour because his doctors advised him that he needed to rest his voice. His Bradenton show is the first one he's doing since.
