Goodwill Manasota and 92.1 CTQ host free country concert
The lineup includes Jerrod Niemann, Runaway June, Jordan Rager, William Michael Morgan and Chris Lane.
You may not know their names quite yet, but people who know country music say you probably will soon.
You’ll definitely never get to see them in concert for a better price. Niemann, Runaway June, Rager, Morgan and Lane will be at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota on Sept. 7 for the second annual “Young Guns of Country” show, and tickets are free.
The performers may be young up-and-comers playing a free show, but they all have some solid credentials. Niemann (who, at 37, may be stretching the definition of a “young” country artist) has released five albums over the past 17 years, and has co-written three singles for Garth Brooks.
For the second year, Goodwill Manasota and country radio station 92.1 CTQ are teaming up for the concert, which they say features “some of country music’s hottest young acts.”
Even though it’s free, you need a ticket to get in. Tickets are available at select local businesses while supplies last.
Details: 7 p.m. Sept. 7, Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, 777 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. Free. 941-355-2721, experiencegoodwill.org/events.
