Hank Williams Jr. and Chris Stapleton play concert in Tampa

If you wanted to name a royal family of country music, you’d probably have to pick between the Cash-Carter clan and the Hank Williams dynasty.

Members of two generations of the latter will be in Tampa Friday for perhaps the biggest country concert of the summer.

Hank Williams Jr., who emerged from the considerable shadow of his legendary father to become one of the biggest stars country music has ever known, will headline the concert at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre. Opening the show will be his daughter, Holly Williams.

Holly Williams hasn’t reached anything like the kind of fame her father and grandfather, nor even her half-brother Hank Williams III, have. But she’s released a couple of albums that made the charts. Her latest, 2013’s “The Highway,” reached No. 8 on the folk charts, and did well on the country and indie charts, too.

The show’s not just a Williams family affair though. In fact, the hottest property in contemporary country, Chris Stapleton, is also on the bill.

Stapleton was already an established songwriter, who has written for everyone from Adele to Dierks Bentley, and with such collaborators as Vince Gill and Peter Frampton, before he became a sensation last year. His solo debut album, “Traveler,” went to No. 1 on the charts and won Stapleton the Country Music Association Awards for Best Male Vocalist, New Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. He also won Grammy Awards this year for Best Country Album and Best Country Solo Performance.
