Marlon Wayans performs in Tampa
Multi-talented entertainer, writer, director and comedian Marlon Wayans has done an awful lot in his show biz career, from co-writing and starring in such movie comedies as “White Chicks” and “A Haunted House,” to starring with his famous family on TV’s “In Living Color” and “The Wayans Brothers.” He even hosted a variety show called “I Can Do That.”
One thing he hasn’t done until now is undertake a solo stand-up tour across North America.
He’s doing that now, and he’ll bring his “Scandal-less’ tour to the Tampa Theatre in downtown Tampa on Saturday.
He has done stand-up before. In fact, he was doing stand-up long before he got famous, starting at age 15. He just hasn’t done a national tour before, and (at least according to the Tampa Theatre website), his shows have been selling out regularly.
It may be a while before he has a chance to get back on the road. He’s currently filming a pilot for NBC for a show that’s loosely based on his own life. If that show is a success, as almost everything the Wayans family does is, Marlon Wayans might not be back in the Tampa Bay area for a long time.
