In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Chris Kattan was one of the most visible and most popular cast members on “Saturday Night Live.” His recurring characters included Mr. Peepers, Mango, Azrael Abyss, Kyle DeMarco from the DeMarco Brothers, Gay Hitler, Suel Forrester and one half of the Butabi Brothers with fellow “SNL” and Groundlings cast member Will Ferrell. He’s also known for impersonations of Clay Aiken, Anne Heche and Queen Elizabeth II.

Kattan will be in Sarasota on Monday for one show at McCurdy’s Comedy Theatre. The show is billed as “Chris Kattan + Friends.” The “friends” are probably some the memorable characters he created on “Saturday Night Live” and elsewhere, or maybe some of his most famous impersonations. But there’s a chance it means that he’ll bring along some surprise guests.

If you don’t already have tickets, you may never know. Kattan’s appearance at McCurdy’s is completely sold out.

Since he left “SNL,” Kattan has starred as himself in the IFC mini-series “Bollywood Hero” and has had a recurring role on “The Middle.”

Details: 7:30 p.m. May 23, McCurdy’s Comedy Theatre, 1923 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota. Sold out. 941-925-3869, mccurdyscomedy.com.
