One of the most popular music acts of the 1980s is returning to Tampa on Saturday, and they’ll be joined by two of the hottest acts of 2016.

Daryl Hall and John Oates (they say they don’t like it when people call them “Hall & Oates”) will headline at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre Saturday night. Their catchy, soulful sound dominated pop radio in the 1980s with such hits as “Rich Girl,” “Family Man” and “Out of Touch,” and their live shows still draw crowds all over the country.

Opening the show are Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue.

Jones and her band play a ferocious brand of soul-funk, sparked by her powerful singing. She’s been called “the female James Brown” and the Dap-Kings are as strong instrumentally as she is vocally. (You may have caught “Miss Sharon Jones,” the documentary about her by Oscar-winning filmmaker Barbara Kopple, at the recent Sarasota Film Festival.)

Trombone Shorty, a multi-instrumentalist despite his moniker, was a big deal in the New Orleans jazz scene before he exploded into the mainstream a few years back. He and his band are known for energetic live shows, like the one they performed at the Sunshine Music festival in St. Petersburg a few months back.

Details: 7 p.m. May 21, MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, 4802 U.S. 301, Tampa. $18-$118. livenation.com.
