Food and Wine on Pine features Kentucky Derby flair

ANNA MARIA ISLAND -- Food and Wine on Pine served up a feast with Kentucky Derby flavor on a breezy Saturday with blue skies and mild temps in the 70s.

The eating and drinking on Anna Maria Island was also spiced with local artists displaying watercolors, metal work, jewelry and pottery, dozens of musical acts, national sidewalk chalk artists, a children's area with exhibitions by young artists and activities for young people, costumed actors depicting characters from Anna Maria history and a Kentucky Derby tent screening races all day.

This year's Food and Wine on Pine featured more than 20 area restaurants with more than 30 upscale wines, and craft, specialty and domestic beers.

The event ends at 6:30 p.m.
