Tuesday: The DeSoto Heritage Musical and Fashion Show at Bradenton Area Convention Center, One Haben Blvd., Palmetto, at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. April 26 featuring the latest fashions modeled by the 2016 Queens Court and the talents of local community performers. Admission to the matinee is free, evening tickets are $10-$20.

Friday: The De Soto Heritage Festival Ball at Bradenton Area Convention Center, One Haben Blvd., Palmetto, 6:30 p.m. April 29, black tie, celebrating investiture of the newest Hernando De Soto.

Saturday: The De Soto Heritage Festival 5K Run, Grand Parade and After Parade Party at Manatee County School Support Center, 215 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton, run preregistration at 4:30 p.m., run starts at 6 p.m., parade starts at 6:30 p.m., more than 150 entries will proceed west on Ninth Avenue, north along 39th Street West to Manatee Avenue and then east toward downtown, After Parade Party, 8 p.m.-midnight at the Courtyard Marriott, 100 Riverfront Blvd. W., Bradenton.

Race registration: $25-$30.

After Party tickets: $30.
