Lakewood Ranch hosts its annual Eggstravaganza

If you really like eggs, or if you just want to watch a whole lot of kids having a whole lot of fun, you're going to want to spend part of your Easter weekend in Lakewood Ranch.

The community's annual Eggstravanganza is set for Saturday morning at Greenbrook Adventure Park. The highlight is a massive Easter egg hunt with 12,000 eggs spread across the park's field. Kids up to age 13 are invited to take part.

It's not quite the free-for-all it might sound like, though. The field will section off into age groups so the little kids aren't trying to compete against the big kids. And the really little ones, age 2 and younger, will have their own area in the skating rink for their first Easter egg hunt ever. The hunt starts at 10:15 a.m., but there's a lot more to do at Eggstravaganza beginning at 9:30 a.m. Other activities and attractions include a petting zoo, face painting, balloon art, pony rides, music and refreshments. And the Easter Bunny will make a personal appearance.
