If you're overly annoyed by people from other countries who come to this country and take our jobs, you might not care much for Red Elvises, a group of Russian emigres who play some peculiarly American music -- rockabilly, surf rock and funk -- and do it very well.

If you're more interested in really fun, high-energy rock 'n' roll shows than in the politics of immigration, you'll want to catch the Elvises when they play tonight at Ace's Live Music in Bradenton.

The Elvises are based in California but through 20 years of rotating membership they've kept an all-Russian lineup. The band has released a dozen studio albums with such titles as "Surfing in Siberia," "I Wanna See You Bellydance," "Drinking With Jesus" and "Bacon." The albums are all pretty good, but the Elvises' forte is their live shows, which is why they tour constantly.

After they gained fame here, the Elvises recorded a couple of albums in Russian, both of which were hits back home (1999's "Russian Bellydance," a Russian-language version of "I Wanna See You Bellydance" and 2002's "Rokenrol.")

Most people still call them by their original name, the Red Elvises, but these days they're technical called Igor and Red Elvises. Founder Igor Yuzov is the only original member.

Details: 9 p.m. Oct. 22, Ace's Live, 4343 Palma Sola Blvd., Bradenton. Tickets: $12 advance, $15 at the door. Information: 941-795-3886, aceslivemusic.com.
