'80s Icon Invites Fans To Event Honoring Her For A 'Great Cause'
Debbie Gibson is being honored, and the '80s pop sensation wants her fans to be there to see it.
The Original Pop Princess has a heart of gold, using her social media platform to help find homes for rescue dogs, and now, she's being recognized for her good deeds at the upcoming Bubbles Dog Rescue Gala 2026.
Ahead of the big day, the "Foolish Beat" singer shared a new Instagram Reel that started out with her dancing with her dog to Gordon Lightfoot's "If You Could Read My Mind." Then, she straightened her top hat and talked to the camera.
"I'm on a mission to make these videos less serious," Gibson declared before adding, "Listen, if you haven't gotten your tickets yet to the Bubbles Dog Rescue Gala honoring me, I can't believe I'm being honored you guys because listen, I feel like as an entertainer, it is a privelege to be able to use my platform to be able to draw attention to saving dogs' lives."
Gibson went on to explain how she has collaborated with Bubbles to rescue "so many dogs this past year." Then, she directed fans to the info shared in the caption, which reads, in part, "MAY 2nd !!! BE THERE! 🐾 Santa Monica , California 🌴🐶 💯 % of the proceeds from this special night CELEBRATES BUBBLES DOG RESCUE and brings together animal lovers and community supporters for a fun night out and celebration of compassion, connection, and giving back!"
General admission starts at $120 with different tiered sponsorship levels for group tickets that include add-ons like a company logo added to print materials, social media mentions, and even bottles of wine at the table, depending on which level is selected.
The "Lost In Your Eyes" singer is being honored as the 2026 Rescue Star of the Year and will attend. Guests can enjoy buffet-style food, dessert, an open bar, a DJ, a photobooth, and an auction with many interesting, mostly pet-focused items.
