A supernatural circus, cabaret for mature audiences is coming to Palmetto this weekend

A show that melds circus arts, theater and cabaret with a dash of horror will arrive in the Bradenton area this weekend.

Paranormal Cirque, a production of Sarasota-based Cirque Entertainment, will make a 15-show stop outside of the Rivera Dunes Marina in Palmetto, starting Thursday.

Under a sinister black and white big top, the show brings an international assembly of circus artists to the stage. Specialties include acrobatics, dance, contortion and illusion.

The acts are woven into supernatural scenes designed to keep crowds on edge. Thumping music, lighting and special effects add to the otherworldly atmosphere.

With monsters, mayhem, seduction and bit of gore, Paranormal Cirque is billed as a show for a mature audience. Kids 12 and under are not allowed to attend, and guests ages 13-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Organizers say extra precautions will be in place in the circus due to COVID-19, including a mask requirement for guests. Capacity for shows is limited, and seating will be socially distanced under the big top, Cirque Entertainment says.

Tickets can be purchased online, by phone or at the box office the week of the show.
