Feld to produce ‘Jurassic World Live,’ featuring life-sized animatronic dinosaurs

Feld Entertainment has never featured such big stars.

Feld, the Palmetto-based entertainment giant, has announced that it is collaborating with Universal Brand Development to create “a groundbreaking, live-touring show inspired by one of the biggest blockbuster franchises in cinematic history, ‘Jurassic World.’” The stars of the show will be will a herd of life-sized dinosaurs, some of them 40-feet long.

You’ll have to wait at least a year and a half, and maybe much longer, to see the show. It’s set to launch in fall of 2019, and then it will set out on a multi-year international tour. Dates for shows anywhere near Bradenton have not been announced.

Some of the dinosaurs will be animatronic, and some will be operated by people. Projection mapping will transport the audience onto Isla Nublar, the fictional locale of the Steven Spielberg-produced film series, where a story based on human interactions with dinosaurs unfolds. Feld describes the show as “a mix between a stunt show and a 3-D thrill attraction.”

The show’s titled “Jurassic World Live” and it’s being built and rehearsed right here in Palmetto.
