Zedd, Nick Jonas headline this weekend’s ‘Jingle Ball’ in Tampa
For thousands of music fans around the country, the sounds of the Christmas season don’t have anything to do with little drummer boys or walking in a winter wonderland.
The annual Jingle Ball Tour is one of the highlights of the fall concert season in cities around the country. It’s actually more like a mini-festival, featuring several acts that could fill arenas with solo shows.
This year, the Jingle Ball Tour stops at Tampa’s Amalie Arena on Saturday. Big-name acts on the bill include Zedd, Nick Jonas, Charlie Puth, Camila Cabello, Liam Payne, All Time Low and Why Don’t We.
For people who don’t follow current hit music, probably the most well-known act is Jonas. He’s the youngest member of the teen-idol band the Jonas Brothers, and he’s grown into an accomplished solo artist.
The official title for the Tampa stop on the tour is 93.3 FLZ’s Jingle Ball 2017. The station chooses a different charity every year as a beneficiary of the concert, and this year it’s the Ryan Seacrest Foundation. One dollar of the price of each ticket will go to the non-profit, which is dedicated to inspiring today’s youth through entertainment and education-focused initiatives.
Details: 7 p.m. Dec. 16, Amalie Arena, 401 Channelside Dr., Tampa. $26-$151. 813-301-2500, amaliearena.com.
