Main Street Live celebrates Thanksgiving (a day early) with Rebel Heart

You probably don’t have to work Thursday, which pretty much makes Wednesday a weekend night.

And maybe you’re looking for something to do that night with yours kids and visiting relatives.

Main Street Live’s annual pre-Thanksgiving celebration might be just what you’re looking for.

Starting at about 5 p.m., Old Main Street will be closed off from Manatee Avenue West to Third Avenue West. The street will be lined with all sorts of vendors, and the bars and restaurants along the street will be open for business.

On the stage near the Manatee Avenue end of the street, live music featuring area band Rebel Heart — a Main Street Live favorite — will dominate the festivities. Rebel Heart offers a crowd-pleasing mix of country, pop and rock. They’re likely to cover everyone from Blink-182 and Cameo to AC/DC.

It’s all free, and it should be fun for your kids and your in-laws.

Main Street Live happens about once a month between October and May, usually on Saturday night and usually close to a holiday. If you can’t make it to the Thanksgiving Eve event, you only have to wait a few weeks until the next one. The annual Main Street Live Christmas party is set for Dec. 16.
