MTV returns to the Florida beaches with ‘Floribama Shore’
MTV seems to think Florida’s beaches are a great fit for its reality shows.
With “Siesta Key” proving to be a ratings hit, MTV is reportedly getting set to premiere “Floribama Shore.” According to the entertainment website Deadline Hollywood, the show “features eight Southern kids who come to spend the summer in the hottest beach town on the Gulf Coast, Panama City Beach, to party it up and put the real world on hold for just a little bit longer.”
Deadline Hollywood quoted producers of the show as saying that each cast member “is armed with incredible life experiences and standing at a crossroads, whether it’s ending a relationship, tasting independence for the first time, or trying to escape the past. This coming of age story captures the very real thrill and angst of being young and trying to figure out the future with a group of people you’ll come to call family.”
The new show comes from Sally Ann Salsano, the creator of the “Jersey Shore” franchise, plus other hit reality shows, including “A Shot at Love” and “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner.”
Salsano has reportedly filmed eight episodes of “Floribama Shore,” which will premiere at 10 p.m. Nov 27.
