Urbanite cancels Friday and Saturday performances of ‘Pilgrims’

Urbanite Theatre in Sarasota has canceled this weekend’s last two performances of “Pilgrims,” its popular science-fiction drama.

Brendan Ragan, one of the theater’s two artistic directors (and one of the lead actors in “Pilgrims”), said the cancellation came so that actors in the show who live out of state could catch earlier flights home, ahead of Hurricane Irma.

People who have tickets for the two canceled shows, on Saturday and Sunday, and being encouraged to attend Thursday or Friday’s performances. the theater expects a lot of no-shows at those performances because a lot of people have already left the area.
