‘Siesta Key’ will premiere on MTV on July 31

The network that brought you “Jersey Shore,” “Laguna Beach” and “The Hills” will bring you “Siesta Key” beginning later this month.

MTV has announced a July 31 premiere date for its new reality show, which follows a group of local young adults, most of them longtime friends, who live in and around Siesta Key. They’ve recently returned home from college or some other life adventure, for the summer or for good, and their relationships with each other are changing and evolving.

Network officials have said the show will look at the lifestyle of the swanky Siesta Key, and that it will be more akin to “Laguna Beach” and “The Hills” than to “Jersey Shore.”

The show is scheduled to air at 10 p.m. Mondays.
