SCF theater alumni celebrate the college’s 60th anniversary
If you pay attention to local theater at all, you’ll probably recognize a lot of the names of people involved with “Welcome Home,” the upcoming production at State College of Florida.
Most of them have become familiar to local audiences after starting as students at SCF or its predecessors, Manatee Community College and Manatee Junior College.
They’re staging a reunion show of sorts, gathering together for a show that celebrates the 60th anniversary of the college under its various names. Among those taking part are alumni Candace Artim, Pamela Hopkins, Walter Price, Jennifer Caldwell, Erin Erickson-Saladino, Page Larson, Janette Perry, Eric Schneider, Jason Wilson, Sally Fint, Janet Raines and Jalex Scott. Other performers include SCF student Nick Catanzaro and SCF staff members Timothy Bourn, Thaggard and Carolyn Zaput.
The show itself is a collection of 12 short original comedies, written by Scott, Thaggard, Kenneth Erickson and Phil Hall.
The show will be on the stage at SCF’s Howard Studio Theatre for three shows only, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoon. Tickets go on sale Friday.
Details: June 23-25, Howard Studio Theatre at State College of Florida, 5840 26th St. W., Bradenton. 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday. $10. 941-752-5252 scf.edu.
