You don’t have to be a boat enthusiast to enjoy the Suncoast Powerboat Grand Prix Festival.

The races themselves (which take place July 1 and 2) are far from the only highlights of the annual festival, which begins Saturday and runs through the Fourth of July.

One of the most popular elements of the festival is coming up this weekend, and it’s on dry land. The Suncoast Powerboat Grand Prix Festival Car Show is set for 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday on Main Street in Lakewood Ranch. It’s free for spectators, and people who want to show off their classic cars can register for $20. (There’s no pre-registration — you just show up Sunday with your car and your $20.)

It’s organized by Lance’s Cruizin’ to the Hop Car Shows, which stages classic car shows all around the Bradenton-Sarasota area.

People who come to show off their restored classics are eligible for prizes and trophies. Spectators get to look at all those cool cars from the days of yore, and can sample food from local restaurants. There are also some prize drawing for spectators.

As always, profits from the car show raise money for local children. The Suncoast Powerboat Grand Prix Festival has raised more than $14 million for kids in need over the years. This year’s event benefits Suncoast Charities for Children.

Details: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. June 25, Main Street at Lakewood Ranch, 8100 Lakewood Ranch Blvd., Bradenton. Free. 941-371-1061, collectorcarstv.com.
