John Cleese brings ‘Holy Grail’ to the Straz Center in Tampa
“Monty Python and the Holy Grail” ranks high on most lists of the funniest movies of all time. And if there are lists of the most often-quoted movies, it probably appears close to the top on those lists too.
On Nov. 2, “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” will screen at the Straz Center of the Performing Arts in Tampa. On hand to offer commentary will be John Cleese, the co-star and co-writer of the film.
Cleese, who was a comedy star in England even before the formation of Monty Python, will tell stories of his life and career following a screening of the film, and the audience will have chance to ask questions. (According to the people at the Straz Center, “Only absurd and/or ridiculous questions are requested, please.”)
You’ll have to bring your own shrubbery and coconuts, but you could finally find out the air speed of an unladen swallow.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
Details: 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2, Morsani Hall at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, 1010 N. MacInnes Place, Tampa. $69-$110 plus service charge. 813-229-7827, strazcenter.org.
