This mountain bike helmet has all the bells and whistles, but most importantly it’s comfortable

By now, everyone should know the benefits of wearing a helmet every time you ride. You could be the best cyclist in the world, but it just takes one careless driver on the road or an unseen root on the trail, and you could be over the handlebars in no time. The Specialized Ambush Mountain Bike Helmet has lots of bells and whistles to brag about, but let's start with the most basic – it's comfortable. The helmet is extremely light and ventilated, enough that you soon forget you're even wearing it. But if you do end up in a crash, the extended coverage behind the head and energy-optimized multi-density foam will manage the impact effectively.

Getting the fit just right is easy as well, with an integrated dial that allows you to get it as snug as you like. Now for the real showstopper: This version of the Ambush Helmet comes with a system called ANGI, which will detect when you've been in a crash and send a message to a preselected contact to let them know what happened. The contact also will receive your GPS coordinates. No one likes to think about being in an accident when riding alone, but if that would happen, this will alert friends or family that you need help – and where they can find you.
