NBA roundup | Clutch Nowitzki leads Mavericks past Celtics

Dirk Nowitzki scored 16 points, driving past Kevin Garnett for the go-ahead layup with 5.1 seconds left and leading the visiting Dallas Mavericks to a 90-85 victory over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.

Dallas led most of the game, but Paul Pierce hit a 3-pointer -- just his second basket of the night -- to tie it at 85 with 25 seconds to play.

Rajon Rondo scored 24 points for Boston and Garnett had 16 points with 10 rebounds. The Celtics have lost two straight since winning four in a row.

THUNDER 95, HORNETS 85 -- Kevin Durant had 29 points and 10 rebounds, and Oklahoma City beat host New Orleans.

Chris Kaman and Carl Landry had 17 points for New Orleans, which lost for the seventh time in eight games.

BULLS 78, WIZARDS 64 -- John Lucas III scored a career-high 25 points filling in for injured Derrick Rose, and host Chicago beat Washington for their third victory in three nights.

KNICKS 85, 76ERS 79 -- Carmelo Anthony had 27 points and the nine rebounds, and host New York snapped Philadelphia’s six-game winning streak. Andre Iguodala and Evan Turner each scored 16 points for the 76ers.

SPURS 101, ROCKETS 95 (OT) -- Tony Parker hit four free throws late in overtime to help San Antonio beat visiting Houston.

PACERS 96, HAWKS 84 -- Danny Granger scored 24 points to break out of a shooting slump in host Indiana’s victory over Atlanta.

KINGS 98, RAPTORS 91 -- Tyreke Evans scored a season-high 29 points, DeMarcus Cousins had 21 points and a career-high 19 rebounds and visiting Sacramento snapped a seven-game losing streak in Toronto.
