If the Tampa Bay Rays make the city of Tampa their new home, the team’s new stadium would be located between the Channel District and Ybor City, the team confirmed Tuesday evening.
Hillsborough County Commissioner Ken Hagan revealed the potential site Tuesday, according to an announcement on the Rays’ website and social media pages.
“This is another important step in the site selection process, and we are grateful for the time and attention that went into making it a possibility,” Rays president Brian Auld said in a statement. “We look forward to getting to work evaluating this option, along with those in Pinellas County including the Tropicana Field site, as a potential future home for Rays baseball in Tampa Bay for generations to come.”
The potential Tampa site is bordered by Fourth Avenue to the north, Adamo Drive to the south, 15th Street to the east and Channelside Drive to the west.
