Saturday’s resumption of play between the Bradenton Marauders and the Daytona Tortugas was postponed until 1 p.m. Sunday. The game, which began on Friday night, was suspended in the first inning after torrential rain. Additional storms Saturday forced the resumption to be delayed again.
Gates will open at noon Sunday. The game will be played to its regulation length of nine innings with Sunday’s regularly schedule game following after a 30-minute intermission. The regularly scheduled game will be scheduled for seven innings.
The game originally scheduled for Saturday no longer will be played at McKechnie Field. That game will be made up as part of a doubleheader at Daytona Beach next week.
Tickets from the July 22 suspended game and the July 23 game may be exchanged for a ticket to any remaining Bradenton Marauders regular-season home game in 2016 at the McKechnie Field ticket office during regular box office hours. The McKechnie Field box office is open Monday-Thursday 11 a.m.-5 p.m. On weekday game days, it is open from 11 a.m. until the final out. On weekends and day games. the box office opens two hours before first pitch. Five-game plan ticket holders to Friday or Saturday night’s game may exchange their ticket for an All-You-Can-Eat ticket and wristband to any future All-You-Can-Eat game in any of the three 2016 plans.
Star Wars Night promotional activities will now take place Saturday, Aug. 13. The team will wear the Star Wars jerseys and the silent auction for the jerseys will occur on that date.
Pokemon festivities planned for Sunday’s game will take place during both games starting when gates open. Dogs will be admitted to both games with the purchase of a $2 Bark Badge for Bark in the Park presented by ABC 7. The post-game Kids Fun Run presented by Mosaic and the on-field Pokemon hunting will take place following the second game on Sunday.
