Daytona Cubs blank Bradenton Marauders on three hits

The Bradenton Marauders (25-34) matched their season low of three hits and were shutout for the fifth time this season in a 4-0 loss to the Daytona Cubs on Wednesday night at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Drew Maggi was 2-for-3 with a stolen base for the Marauders in defeat.

Chris Leroux (L, 0-1) started for the Marauders in a rehab appearance. The Pirates' righty bolstered the Marauders by throwing three innings, but with two outs in the third John Andreoli tripled home the only run the Cubs would need. Leroux allowed two hits and walked one while striking out two.

Eliecer Navarro retired the first nine batters he faced in relief of Leroux, but in the seventh was chased after allowed three runs on four hits. Kenn Kasparek pitch 1.1 innings for the Marauders.

Matt Loosen (W, 4-1) struck out six in 5.2 innings and the Cubs bullpen retired the final 10 Marauders batters in order.
