Pirates' new team will be called Bradenton Marauders

BRADENTON -- The Pittsburgh Pirates announced today that their Florida State League franchise in Bradenton will be known as the "Bradenton Marauders."

The announcement was made at a Kiwanis Club of Bradenton luncheon attended by Pirates players and executives.

Also today, the Pirates organization plans to distribute Adopt-A-Family holiday gifts to families, join in a groundbreaking for the 13th Avenue Community Center and attend a street party at Lakewood Ranch Main Street.
