BRADENTON — Manatee High has added Lakeland to its spring football game creating a three-way, round-robin type of scenario with Venice.
The event, scheduled for May 21, at Joe Kinnan Field at Hawkins Stadium, will have Manatee playing Venice and Lakeland for one half and those two schools meeting each other for a half.
Manatee athletic director Jason Montgomery said the event would be military appreciation day with half-price admissions for all active duty and veterans and that a dollar of all ticket sales would be donated to a local military charity.
Manatee will play Venice in a half beginning at 7 p.m. and Venice will then play Lakeland. The festivities will end with the Hurricanes facing Lakeland for a half. General admission tickets are $6.
