Ranch girls double up, cruise to win

Sophomores LaDazhia Williams and Aleah Robinson each recorded a double-double Tuesday night to lead the Lakewood Ranch girls basketball team to a 58-21 pasting of host North Port in Class 7A-District 10 action.

Williams scored 21 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, and Robinson had 10 points and 10 boards for the Mustangs (16-7, 6-2). Kailyn Scully contributed 11 points.

PALMETTO 59, BRADEN RIVER 26 -- Jermisha Collins lifted the visiting Tigers to a Class 7A-District 10 win with 18 points.

Taylor Rizier pitched in with 15 points, and Anissa Washington had 12. Conner Rozier added six points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots.

OUT-OF-DOOR ACADEMY 37, BRADENTON CHRISTIAN 30 -- The Thunder knocked down 11 fourth-quarter free throws to ease past the host Thunder for a Class 3A-District 10 victory.

Lisa Hoffman scored 17 points to lead ODA. Jenna Block scored all 10 of her points at the free-throw line.

BCS (9-9, 2-3) got 10 points from Amy VanRyn and eight from Katie Swaagman.

Boys basketball

BRADENTON CHRISTIAN 77, OUT-OF-DOOR ACADEMY 42 -- Vincent Rehfeldt poured in 23 points, and J.T. Noellert had a double-double as the host Panthers improved to 13-4, 4-1 in Class 3A-District 10.

Noellert had 16 points and 11 rebounds. Ryan Leunk added 15 points for BCS.

ODA got 16 points from Amad Brayboy and 10 from Kolbie Ward.

CARDINAL MOONEY 80, ENGLEWOOD LEMON BAY 46 -- The visiting Cougars (17-1) won behind the hot shooting of Ryan McMahon, who had 25 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Blair Perry added 14 points and five assists. Justin Najmy added 11 assists and six rebounds, and Nick Peacock had 10 points.

Boys soccer

MANATEE 6, SARASOTA 0 -- Colton Clark scored twice as the host Hurricanes (11-3-2) rolled over the Sailors. Kevin Roman, Jacob Titsworth, Antonio Hernandez and Ricardo Reyes also scored for Manatee. Reyes and Hernandez had assists as did Travis Dye and Julian Rodriguez.

SOUTHEAST 2, BRADEN RIVER 0 -- The host Seminoles (11-4) notched the win with two goals by Addel Rivas, and it was the eighth shutout of the season for goalie Josh Karg. Ricardo Rodriguez and Domingo Cortez assisted on the goals.
