Host Noles win Volley for the Cure

Emma Bartges had 14 kills, and Molly Persson pitched in with 16 assists as the Southeast volleyball team claimed a 25-19, 25-12, 25-22 victory over visiting Palmetto in the annual Volley for the Cure match to benefit breast cancer research.

About 300 fans attended the match, which featured both teams wearing pink. Megan Stevens contributed 16 assists for the Seminoles (12-12).

MANATEE 3, BRADEN RIVER 0 -- JoJo Coulter laced 19 kills, and Haley Coulter had 16 as the host Hurricanes claimed a 26-24, 26-24, 25-20 victory over the Pirates in a Volley for the Cure match that drew about 400 fans.

JV: Manatee claimed a 22-25, 25-23, 15-9 victory in the junior varsity match.

SARASOTA CHRISTIAN 3, MANATEE HEAT 2 -- The host Blazers avenged an earlier defeat, winning 25-23, 25-27, 23-25, 25-21, 15-8 and ending the HEAT's season at 17-4.

Mariah Dunlop led the HEAT with 18 kills and had 15 digs and 13 service points. Macenzie Krause added 26 digs and 13 service points. Courtney Krause had 28 assists, and Isabella LaVassaur ripped 11 kills.

OUT-OF-DOOR ACADEMY 3, PUNTA GORDA CHARLOTTE 2 -- Natalie Buffett's 13 kills propeled the visiting Thunder to a 25-21, 4-25, 17-25, 25-22, 15-12 victory over the Tarpons. Reanna Gregory pitched in with four kills and four blocks.

SARASOTA 3, CARDINAL MOONEY 1 -- Maddie McNally had 12 kills, and Annie Shaw added 22 assists for the Cougars.
